FLAGS Software joins Recur Software in UK–US technology transaction

Headpoint Advisors advised the shareholders of industrial software specialist FLAGS Software on its sale to US-headquartered Recur Software.

Headpoint Advisors has advised the shareholders of Solihull-based FLAGS Software on its sale to Recur Software, a US-headquartered investor in vertical-market software businesses.

Founded in 1989, FLAGS develops quality-management and production-control software for complex manufacturing environments. Its technology captures quality and production data at the point of build, helping manufacturers maintain detailed product traceability, identify issues earlier and reduce costly rework. Over more than three decades, the platform has become embedded in demanding automotive, aerospace, rail and marine operations, with users including Jaguar Land Rover, Bentley Motors, Aston Martin and Harley-Davidson.

Recur Software partners with specialist software companies for the long term, supporting growth through continued investment in products and operational capability. Joining Recur provides a platform for further development of the FLAGS product and expansion into new sectors and international markets.

The transaction reflects the value of specialist industrial software that combines deep sector knowledge with mission-critical applications. It also demonstrates how a business rooted in the UK manufacturing ecosystem can attract a strategic partner with the resources and international reach to support its next phase.

The Headpoint team was led by Partner Emmet Keating, supported by Joseph Lowe and Victoria Bond. FLAGS CEO Janet Redman thanked the team for its commitment and professionalism throughout the process, while Emmet highlighted the strength of the company’s technology, customer relationships and sector expertise.
